Note that this review is from someone who doesn't find the Harry Potter movies very interesting or even particularly well-made (although the later movies were clearly an improvement). First of all, you have to book your tickets months in advance. If you find there are no tickets available on the WB page, try tour companies like Golden Tours. They often have prebought tickets available, even if the studio page claims they're sold out. Also, they provide the transportation to the studio. If your group has to get their tickets from several sources, it's no problem: you'll meet in the Great Hall at the studio. Just be vary of the black market tickets that would be refused upon entry; purchase them either from a reliable tour company or directly from WB. If you're going there on your own, I recommend first taking the underground to the Euston station, then switching to London Overground to Watford Junction. You can hop on the Overground from various stations, but it may be a slower train that could take up to 1-2 hours. The fastest trains start from Euston and often reach Watford Junction in less than 20-30 minutes. Hop on the WB shuttle bus (£2.50 cash only!) from Watford Junction. So how was our visit? Crowded, very crowded. This is like entering a museum of movie props from the Harry Potter movies and if you like the movies, you'll enjoy your visit. Food was not too bad either, although on the expensive side. Also, you can have a glass of Butterbeer with (or without) your food. You can have a very, very expensive video (or photo) of yourself green screen riding a broom. Staff was friendly and the only reason I'm reducing the points to 3/5, is the high admission price and the difficulty of obtaining our tickets. Collapse

I’m a potter fan, my partner - not so much. First bit of advice would be to book early, as in months ahead! They book out fast. My experience was I tried to book a month a head and could only purchase 1 ticket for a day. I returned back to the website everyday until we left, people sell their tickets back to the website all the time so there are always different tickets / days / times available. If you’re insanely lucky like I was, I was able to purchase a second ticket just days before, for the same price, for the same day at exactly the same time! Getting there... we were staying central London so walked to London Euston station and used our Oyster cards (get one it’s the cheapest way to use the trains etc) to travel to Watford junction. Now we found that the trains are fairly regular so you don’t have to wait long, however one train takes 20mins and the other takes about 40mins. So make sure you get the 20min one! Once in Watford junction there are signs everywhere and you literally walk out of the station straight to the shuttle. It cost 2.50 pounds each for a return ticket on the shuttle. The shuttle literally drops you at the tour entrance! Our tour wasn’t until 1230 and we left London at about 1030 and got through the doors after being searched and lining up etc at 12.... so if it’s a busy day it can take a little while to get in. Keep your coats for the backlot! The tour is mostly self guided with only the start being guided through the great hall. So many amazing features to the tour. 3 shops. A cafe 4/5ths of the way through which sells butter beer! My partner who isn’t a big fan even had a good day! Getting back is the same, catch the shuttle to the train station and head back to london! Overall very simple to get there and a lot of fun there! Would definitely recommend! Collapse

Our second visit, this one was to see the new forest and train station. The exhibition is great and it’s fascinating to see how they brought the films to life and see authentic artefacts. Very informative. Bit disappointed to be truthful with the Forest, thought there would be more to it. Train station is spacious but again, I was a little disappointed as I thought there would be more detail included as opposed to just a photo opportunity through the wall with the trolley and the train. Not really sure what I was expecting but felt that more was needed. I do love this place. The one thing that spoils it is the dining. Expensive drinks and snacks - once you are there you cannot really go elsewhere for food so are stuck to paying the prices or carrying your own. It was not crowded and I felt we had time to see things in detail. Collapse

Overall I think the whole place was absolutely magnificent expect for the tour bus and the gift shop. Collapse

A great day out! Me and my son are harry potter fans so this was the perfect present for his birthday. He loved every minute of the day and found it all so interesting. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed it too (even though she has only seen a few films). Ve warned the prices for your broomstick photos and videos are very steep! I feel they would get much more sales if they lowered the price a bit. We brought 2 photos (I think it was 2 for £20...or £14 each) but the videos are extortionate at £20 each! If you have two kids wanting video and photos each its gonna cost as much as your entry price! Also be warned there is an opportunity for a photo in a train carriage further round the tour that you may prefer as a family photo to the wanted photo. That aside as the only negative though this is an amazing day out for any fan (or anyone just interested in films). I would also like to give an extra shoutout to an employee in the car park. I totally face planted within 10 minutes of arriving and she was lovely and offered lots of help. It turned out I did walk around all day with a fracture in my wrist....which proves how awesome this place is as i still had a great day lol Collapse
