This is my 3rd review of Thorpe Park, the first 2 I couldn't say anything negative about it, we had a great time! Unfortunately, this time we found that Finns bar has gone card only, we only found this out after checking into the Thorpe shark hotel, we stayed 2 nights. Nothing on our booking, and it had been booked for months, said that this would be the case so we all took cash and luckily card. Both myself and my other friend were worried as we will both be charged by our banks for going overdrawn, our respective partners were OK. We told the shift manager in Finns bar and he was as helpful as he could be saying he could take cash but it would have to be correct but we needed to go see the staff at the information desk. The next day we went and thankfully tom did offer us some recompense by giving us fast track passes which was great. But, please Thorpe Park please bring back the cash bar even if you only do it during the day and after a certain time go hotel style 'charge to room' and pay on check out. Thanks. Collapse

Was really nervous about going after all the negative reviews but I must say how fantastic the day was. Not one ride closed longest queue was 60 mins for the walking dead - which was underwhelming, didn’t see 1 zombie? But the ride was good. All other rides open and working fine even when it rained a little. Average queue length was 20 mins. No queue jumpers, bag search quick as was ticket collection. We took a cool box full of food and drink and left in a locker and took a backpack round with what we needed. Absolutely fine. Some staff a little miserable and lacking clear communication but that’s down to the management I think. Went on Sunday. Brilliant day Collapse

Me and my partner went to Thorpe Park yesterday and really enjoyed aswell. For us it’s quite a distance to travel so it has to be well worth it. So starting from the beginning... We bought tickets there on the day. We had a cadburys 2 for one. For both of us it cost £49 which for a whole day of fun and laughter we was happy to pay. However if we didn’t have the voucher it would’ve been £98 which is ridiculous. We also had to pay for parking which was £7 which I think is absolute joke and my main moan tbh. You’ve already got me there, I’m gonna be spending money. I don’t expect to pay for parking. The queue for tickets was quick btw. Security was simple and fast moving. When we got in the park it was already busy but we managed to get on tides fairly quickly. Queues at most for the day were 25mins and there wasn’t many of them. Generally 5/10/20mins. The rides were great and good fun. At midday we purchased a refilled drink at £8 which seems alot but we refilled it 3 times despite only getting it at midday. So if purchased when coming in or before you visit it is value for money. Food wise we had KFC which was overpriced but was expected. We left happy. All in all a fun day. Collapse

We have just returned from a day out to Thorpe Park theme park. After having been here before, I was well aware that this theme park is aimed at teenage and upwards years. Having a 4 year old with us, we decided to srill give it a go as the sun was shining and she isn't really a fan of rides, but enjoys watching them and playing on the toy machines. We visited the park as a family of 3 adults and 1 child and we had a great day. We booked our tickets 2 days before online at the cost if £33 pp which I think is suitable. We arrived at the park at 12pm and went straight in without queuing. Thorpe park is brilliant if you are a fan of rollercoasters (which we are). We didn't queue for longer than 10 minutes for any of the rides and managed to do all of them (apart from 1 that was closed and 2 that we didn't fancy). We did however fully enjoy Saw, Stealth, colossus, tidal wave, Rumba Rapids, Swarm and all of the toddler rides. We took a packed lunch (which I highly advise of you want something other than burger, chicken or fair ground style food. We sat by the lake and enjoyed our lunch in the sun. We had a slush style drink which was £7 for 2 of them (overpriced if I'm honest and they wasn't very slushy, just cold). We bought 2 photos from the rides at a cost of £10 each... and we all had a great time. My ONLY gripe is the attitudes and 'happiness' of the staff... I would highly recommend that everyone working at the park should be able to speak a good level of English and be happy especially when entertaining children. I would reccommend visiting thia park, but come prepared, with a packed lunch at least. We will definitely come back. Also, parking is £7 unless you're staying at the hotel. Collapse

Thorpe Park offers a whole host of different rides and amusement attractions. From high-octane and speedy rollercoasters all the way to your well-known dodgems, Thorpe Park makes for a fun day out. We visited on a midweek day when temperatures were high and crowds were not too busy, and the two factors together made for a great time. The park was open six hours, but that was more than enough time to experience Saw: The Ride, Colossus, The Swarm, Tidal Wave, Nemesis Inferno (a ride which featured in the popular Inbetweeners show) and Rush. All of the aforementioned attractions are great and we didn’t have to queue longer than fifteen minutes for each ride which was more than satisfactory bearing in mind queue times can exceed ninety minutes during peak days / seasons. The one attractions we were disappointed with was The Walking Dead experience - which is nothing more than a glorified version of the unpopular X No Way Out ride and found in the same building and using the same track and karts - so that was a let down as fans of the series, and other disappointment was that Slammer and Vortex were out of action completely. The former ALWAYS appears to be undergoing work/maintenance, so best to avoid it if this is the case. Doesn’t quite seem like it’s properly working on any of the last three occasions I have visited. There is a Burger King, KFC and other food outlets to chose from and numerous small shacks offering refreshments. Overall, the Park offers a number of great attractions. Couple that with super sunny weather and low queue times, you’re in for a top day out. Collapse
