I went on the 18th of October and it was quiet which was fabulous. The swarm was down but that isn't anybody's fault it was up and running the following day. Staff as always were friendly and spot on with their safety checks. But moving on to the evening! Thorpe park you have truly excelled yourself this year round! The actors roaming around the park from amity to the clowns were amazing stayed in character the whole 8 hours and their energy was on point! They truly made the evening more so than the mazes they are such a talented bunch! The scare mazes were all good some more so than others in my personal opinion. Nothing against those that were working in them as they were great but some of the theming and story of deadcreek woods and Vulcan peek could be better. But the walking dead do or die actually was the one that made me run! Platform 15 was amazing truly well themed better so than last year. Blair witch was awesome as always. As a walking dead fan I adored living nightmare the theming in that maze is incredible. Saw alive was amazing as always great jump scares and smells in there! Overall was an incredible night...I also loved the fright nights brace yourselfs for each ride (stealth was the best) My only criticism is that I really missed the big top!!! The show was great and the actors were amazing but they would be so much better in the maze. Please bring it back <3 thanks for an epic merlin pass season see you next year! Collapse

I have been wanting to go to Thorpe park for years and we decided to make the nearly 3 hour trip to come. We had a magic pass and a timetable of when you can't use it at all Merlin attractions. There was nothing about restrictions at Thorpe park at all. We got there all excited only to be told we can't use them today. We argued with them but I must say it was poor customer service they were adamant they were right. So after paying £110 to get in this wasn't a great start. We got on a few rides to begin with ease then it got busier and busier and queue times were up to 150mins. We only managed to do a handful of rides (which praise where praise is due were incredible) the worst one tho was the Darren Brown ghost train.. over 2 hours we queued, it looked amazing as we got in. Then my headset was awful and the guy who worked there just shrugged his shoulders when I tried to tell him. No live actors either to scare you like it said. So I spent over 2 hours to sit and look at some blurry picture. Not happy, not one staff member cared. We queued for saw live as it said 60mins and this was at 5.45 so we had tickets for containment at 7. What lies that was as 7 came and went in the queue as you had sold so many fast tracks with your greed that they were prioritsed. So when we got to the door at 7.40 we told the girl who to be fair radioed the containment to say we had been queuing longer on it. When we finally got to containment we explained to the guy who looked so mad and was like right more problems and begrudgingly let us on. So we only managed 2 scare mazes in the end. Worst part was the car park.....£10 to get out only to queue over an hour as your system is shocking. Not getting to our hotel til 11.30pm with having no dinner as we hadn't found time with all your queues really just topped it off. Maybe you should stop being so greedy and set a lower entrance of capacity to the park so people can actually go on what they have paid for and stop selling so many fast passes just for greed. We live near Alton towers and you have to pay a bit extra for the scare mazes but you are guaranteed a time slot and to actually get on them all. It's a shame as was so looking forward to it and we will come again as I say rides are incredible but not on a weekend or Halloween. Collapse

My children and I decided to make the 200 mile round trip to experience the Fright Night. Queues were MASSIVE and minimum waiting time was 45 minutes which we didn’t mind to get a good scare. The only scary thing was the poor over dramatic and cheesy actors. My 11 year old son said “cringe, this is rubbish” We tried 3 mazes and all of the actors were the same “dramatic cheese” I found it embarrassing to watch. We did however enjoy the smaller rides with lower que times. If you want to be scared 100% do not come here as you will be massively let down. Collapse
A mostly good experience.

Me and the misses had a fantastic weekend at Thorpe Park. However, there are a few things to watch out for. Here’s a list of positives and negatives I’d recommend having a look at. + Very good hotel staff. Couldn’t fault them one bit and would seriously recommend a stay in the hotel. I’d note they have very small rooms, but they are incredibly comfortable. Very entertaining scare attractions, the best being both Saw Alive and The Walking Dead Living Nightmare. I am terrified of scare attractions but found both of these intense mazes to be fantastic and highly enjoyable. (Note: avoid Vulcan peak, this attraction contains no actors, only staff and is the only very poor attraction). Expensive yes, but very good food indeed. I would reccomend both the HogRoast or Amity Fish and Chips. The Waffles and Donuts are also exceptional. Fantastic variety of world class attractions, Including 6 entertaining coasters, the best of which being Nemesis Inferno and The Swarm is your a thrill seeker. Despite high prices, there are many fun carnival games to try out. The staff on these that we encountered were all fantastic, and some of the best staff members in the park. - Very poor staff on some attractions, who clearly didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. Many we’re incredibly slow and continuously, casually stopped to chat to other employees. This led to awful through-puts on rides causing queues to stack of at quiet times. Despite the good quality of food, Amity Fish and Chip’s staff were rather unfriendly and didn’t seem happy to help. Very long queues on our Saturday, however these are to be expected during fright nights. Minimum queues for coasters and scare attractions being well over and hour, so bear this in mind if you’ve never been. Seemed to be an awful lack of Scare actors outside of Amity High and The Big Top. I’m sure there were many of them around, but not enough for such a big park in my opinion. Many rides break down frequently. I wouldn’t advise joining queues of longer than 60 minutes for D-B’s Ghost Train as you will more than likely not get on before it breaks down, which can be for the whole day at times. Overall the positive experiences outweighed any negatives ones by a long way. A credit to the social media (Twitter) staff too, who are always quick to respond to any complaints, questions or queries if you have any. A 4/5 star rating here, not perfect by all means, but all in all well worth a 2 day stay. If anyone does have any questions on the park that I haven’t covered I’m happy to help. Collapse
