We drove for over 3 hours to get to Thorpe Park hoping for a fun filled and thrilling day, but all we got was disappointment. We arrived at Thorpe Park at 10.10, parked and then we started to wait in our first queue of the day. We had a voucher (as like many other people) for 2 for 1 tickets. 11.55am we eventually got to the front of the queue and purchased our tickets costing £62 for both of us to enter for the day with a £7 car parking ticket. 2 hours which we shouldve been enjoying Thorpe park, wasted spent queuing up for entrance tickets, for several reasons, the first being you cant use the voucher online to buy tickets before you arrive(no idea why you cant use vouchers online to buy your tickets). Secondly, there are no signs or staff from the car park to the entrance gates explaining where to go/purchase tickets. Thirdly, considering this is suppose to be PEAK SEASON for Thorpe park, there were only 3 people serving on the ticket counters for people queuing up for over an hour and a half and when a fourth employee did open up another counter they would literally serve one person and then close again!!!! So, after 2 hours wasted getting tickets, we finally entered the park and thought the worse was over, how wrong we were! We downloaded the Thorpe Park app to check out queue times, the shortest queue was for the walking dead ride, which estimated a 55 minute wait, which was half the time for most the other rides at that time. We queued and queued, then for about half hour the queue just stopped, no explanation until an announcement on loud speaker, telling us thank you for waiting, the ride is now back up and running again! We were even told it had stopped running. We eventually got on the ride by 2pm. 4 hours into our day at Thorpe park and we had rode one ride. By this point in the day, we were wandering around the park looking for any ride that was working! The theme of the day was the signs at the entrance of the rides telling us to COME BACK LATER. We eventually decided to queue for the Swarm coaster which had an estimated wait time of 110minutes. Another 2 hours of queuing and we enjoyed our 2nd ride of the day. By this time, it was gone 4pm, the park closes at 5pm! We hoped to get at least one more ride out of the day, but it was not to be. We first queued for 15minutes for Nemesis only for a voice to come over the loud speaker and tell us the ride had broken down and for those at the back of the queue not to bother waiting, then we headed over to the Saw ride to queue for 10 minutes only to be told again over the loud speaker the ride had broken down! Fantastic. It was at this point we decided to give up and embark on our 4 hour journey home. So in 7 hours, we’d managed to enjoy the grand total of 2 rides, all for the told cost of £62. Of course, we could’ve purchased fast track passes to enjoy more rides but after already spending £62 plus travelling 3hours plus the thought of paying £10 for a fast track pass to 1 ride, or £45 for a pass to 5 rides, or £90 for unlimited fast track passes was not affordable to us. Especially, when you’re being charged £2.30 for a bottle of coke inside the park. The rides look fantastic and we did enjoy the 2 rides we somehow managed to get on, but this was the worst experience ive ever had at a theme park and will not be rushing back any time soon. I appreciate that this is peak season for the park with many school trip groups and the sunny weather bringing in extra people but the organisation of this Park is simply terrible. Surely, the management team have been doing their jobs for long enough to do something about all this chaos going on. Thorpe Park is only interested in getting a-lot of money out of you for little effort. The park is completely under staffed, for the ticket counters at the entrance, to the staff on the rides. The Swarm ride was complete chaos getting on the ride, people were walking through the fast track and disabled entrance without tickets and passes being checked as there was just one person trying to control the 3 entrances to the ride. Shambles. Even the queues to get donuts was half and hour long. If you like queuing up for hours and hours, this is the theme park for you,if not avoid at all cost. Complete rip off Collapse

Was really looking forward to the visit today with my friends, I have been to Thorpe park many times and today was the busiest i have ever seen it. Terrible organisation, way too over crowded and very expensive. Got there at 12pm, we looked at the times and for the walking dead ride it said 35 minutes for the queue, I timed it on my phone and it ended up being 2 hours long queuing! Staff came round the queue apologising saying it was a problem on there half but got no compensation for the wasted time. We then got lunch at kfc and had to wait a further 30 mins just to get to the till, after, we ended up buying fast pass to get on saw and stealth, colossus and nemesis kept breaking down so didnt get a chance to go on them, when we left it took 45 mins just get out the car park as it was gridlocked, absolute joke! left very disappointed and felt like I had wasted a day and allot of money and time organising, not happy. Can I just say if you want to get the great British public writing rave reviews about your theme park, then take a fortnight out of your schedule to see just how efficient Disneyland Orlando runs their theme parks. They are amazingly professional, fabulously organised and nothing is too much trouble. Not only do they operate in a methodical, well structured and planned way, but all their staff are consistently polite and energetic and the numbers through their parks are probably well in excess of 50,000 per day. The Americans know how to do it and we have got a long way to go to go before we even get close to what they offer. Collapse

I attended Thorpe Park yesterday thinking that it would be a great day out but I was so wrong!!! I have attended the park in previous years and have always had a great time. Staff have always been great and helpful and generally the wait times for the rides is reasonable but this time was a whole different experience. I always check on the website before I book to see if they anticipate schools or any large groups so that I can avoid those dates. This year’s information supplied by the media team has been really poor to non-existent. All the resort seems to care about is pushing out their LOVE ISLAND nights promotion instead of actual information about the park. I got in at 1020hrs after spending about 20 mins in the security que which I didn't mind as this is for everyone’s safety. Once we got into the park straight away the wait time was about 60-70mins for each of the large attractions due the large group of school children there. Again, had the park advertised this on their website or social media like previous years I would have avoided this date. Stealth was closed for over an hour as there was a weekly maintenance apparently taking place, which you'd think you could do before the park opens for guests. Coleuses was down for most of the day and so were most of the other rides on and off. Having waited 90 mins to get onto Stealth instead of the 25mins stated when it finally opened, we decided that we’d shell out the extra cash and buy fast track tickets. I tried using the QR code on the billboard to avoid queuing up to get the fast track tickets and surprise, surprise it didn’t work. I queued up for an extra 50 mins and spent and extra £90 for two of use to get fast track on 5 rides. This was on top of the money we had already shelled out for car park and entry. It turns out that fast track does not mean fast track as we still had to wait over 45 mins in fast track to get onto nemesis inferno. SWARM took 40 mins and SAW took 35 mins with our fast track. Even though these times may seem like reasonable for some, I didn’t, considering how much extra you have to pay. We were unable to use our last two fast track tickets as we ran out of to due to rides breaking down and stating come back later. Rides like Samurai had two full rows out of action, which is really unacceptable considering the park claims that they have engineers always at hand. The food choices are shambles. We went to Sticky Sisters, which had one staff at the till with nearly 25 people waiting. Food was poor and overpriced and we were served a slush which was just water. I brought an unlimited refill bottle which was really poor as there was only a few places you could refill from without getting charged and additional 50p and when you did get a refill it was flat or the syrup had run out for that particular drink. In a nutshell the park is an overpriced, dated with rides that always seen to breakdown. Instead of feeling like a premium attraction it feels like a cheap fun fair. I know some may feel like this review is a bit long winded but the cheer disappointment from this visit has made me rethink visiting Alton towers, another merlin attraction this year. Collapse

My 15 year old daughter and her friend visited on Saturday last. We knew it would be busy so researched and took advice from THORPE Park web and Trip Advisor reviews on how to best avoid the queues. They got on loads of the rides before 12.30pm without needing to use a Fast Pass. After that a Fast Pass was really needed until about 4pm. They went on so many rides they couldn’t tell me when I asked. They had a brilliant time. They never complained about rides breaking down nor queues for food. They were savvy what time they ate. The only thing they mentioned was their disappointment that they were told they couldn’t go on the RumbaRapids without an 18 year old!!! Seriously? I can understand a group but two mature girls? Would definitely use the same methods to avoid queues again on next visit in peak time. The only recommendation I have and would love to receive feedback on, is why on earth can’t an Ultimate Fast Pass be sent to mobile phone? We didn’t buy one purely because of this as we weren’t going to chance a queue to receive them. The other Fast Pass options all could be, so I really got frustrated at this. Please change it if you can!!!! Collapse
