Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to the Bateaux team for a great afternoon on the Thames. Firstly, our waitress, I believe her name was Beatrice, is a credit to your team and made us feel extremely welcome. One of our covers has coeliac disease and required a gluten free meal - there was no hassle requesting this and she really went above and beyond to ensure that member of our party did not miss out. The food quality was just as good as the 'normal' option which is a plus because this can sometimes be difficult to get! The food itself was really tasty and well presented, albeit with a couple of points for improvement: We were not asked how we would like our lamb cooked, and it came out a bit more cooked than I personally would have liked it, whilst another table nearby would have prefered it cooked more. It was not a big deal / worth complaining over however as the lamb was still delicious and not dry. My other point of improvement is that, due to what I imagine is quite a tight schedule and a lot of people to serve, that our drinks took a while to arrive. I am sympathetic to the pressures on the staff, however - who did a great job overall! Overall, I would like to thank the Bateaux team, especially our waitress, for a really good lunch and a relaxed, but high quality atmosphere! Collapse

Booked a group of 25 for a suprised hen party. The service was terrible, we sat down to receive some tea and the tea pots were cold, my friend next to me poured some tea in her cup and it was green. So we told the waitress and she brought new pots but then when we asked for re-fills they would take ages to bring a new pot out. Secondly, we had a mixed of dietary needs so the waitress just set all the sandwiches to one and brought out all the same sandwiches, which wasn't fair for the others. So when we asked can we have some mixed sandwiches, the waitress took a whole plate of new sandwiches from each table and swapped it. Then, the dessert tasted like it was de-frozen out of the frozen. The fresh fruit tart became soggy after a while and lost its texture and taste. I asked for water, and I didn't receive water till the end of the experience, which I kept reminding her to bring me water. Terrible service and quality of food. I wouldn't recommend this for a hen party. Collapse

The cruise is lovely , well commentated and nice interior. Aggie our waitress was very nice and friendly. The food was just ok - lamb main course was on a bed of risotto which was bland. But it was a good experience.

We arrived at 19.00 as requested – it took quite a while (too long) to get a glass of pre-ordered Prosecco and we were “stuck on the dock” for what appeared to be far too long. Pre-ordered wine was slow to be delivered – the waiter wanted to pour the wine, a nice touch providing the wine is there when you want it. The meal was good and everything was running well until, just about to disembark, I was approached by a chap, presumably a manager, who told me I’d not paid for two bottles of wine that he insisted I’d personally ordered from him – I took him to one side and quietly explained I’d not spoken to him ever before. Everyone left the boat; I returned and he said “it’s all sorted”. Now I don’t know what was sorted, but I didn’t receive an apology and every venue needs to realise that leaving a venue is the customers’ last memory of an event. I’d been on-board for 3.5 hours and at any point I could have been approached to pay for any drinks – which I hadn’t ordered; this was depressingly poor customer service. I liked every other aspect of being on the boat - the band with girl singer were great – it was a great shame the dancing only got going thirty minutes before we disembarked. Collapse
