The Woman in Black London Theatre Show Information

The long-running West End play is a thrilling classic. Adapted from Susan Hill’s bestseller the mysterious play will keep you on the edge of your seat.

About The Woman in Black

Easily the most successful and undoubtedly one of the scariest plays ever produced, the show captures a nerve-jangling balance between near-cinematic effects and the thrill of live performance.

The Story

The late Alice Drablow’s home, Eel Marsh House, stands empty on the salt marshes outside the sleepy town of Crythin Gifford. Arthur Kipps, a junior solicitor, is sent to the house to sort her affairs. At the funeral he glimpses a mysterious woman with a wasted face, all dressed in black – the townspeople refuse to speak of her. As the house reveals its tragic secrets to Kipps, he will discover the terrible story of The Woman in Black.

History of The Woman in Black

Frightening audiences in the West End for 25 years, The Woman in Black has become a staple of the London theatre and is a must-see. Adapted from Susan Hill’s bestseller, the only thing that won’t shock you will be the fact that the play is the second longest-running in the West End.
