About Rosmersholm

Written in 1886 by Henrik Ibsen, Rosmersholm makes its West End debut this spring at the Duke of York’s Theatre. From 24 April to 20 July, join Tom Burke, Hayley Atwell, and Giles Terera in this thrilling adaption of Ibsen’s play.

The Story

The house of an influential dynasty, Rosmersholm hangs in the balance as a looming election threatens to change the country’s political climate forever. The future rests on John Rosmer’s shoulders, who finds himself torn between conservative traditions and his free-spirited housekeeper.

History of Rosmersholm

Originally released in Danish, the play is said to be one of Ibsen’s best works. The production’s last London revival was in 2008 at the Almeida Theatre.
