& Juliet Theatre Show Information

About & Juliet

Don't miss one of the quirkiest shows of all time. It puts an interesting spin on the traditional tale of Romeo and Juliet but instead of despairing at the death of her lover, she lives on. This is the feminist slant on the love story, where Juliet is a riotous comic who writes her own future and thrives after Romeo.

The Story

This show explores what would happen if Juliet didn't die at the end of the play - if her famous ending was really just her beginning. The wonderful music in & Juliet has been written by Swedish songwriter Max Martin, whose long 25-year career has seen him produce songs for artists like Taylor Swift, Westlife, Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. It also stars Hamilton actress Miriam Teak-Lee as Juliet Capulet, who heroically chooses to get up and get a life after her lover takes his. She gathers her girlfriends for a night out in Paris and ‘gets lit’ to songs like 'Love Me Like You Do' and ‘Baby One More Time’.

History of & Juliet

& Juliet will be running at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London from November 2019. It’s directed by Luke Sheppard, who is best known for directing In the Heights, a Lin-Manuel Miranda play that won an incredible three Oliver Awards. The story of & Juliet was put together by David West Read and is his West End debut. The choreography from Jennifer Weber and set design from Soutra Gilmour is not to be missed.
