Grease Theatre Show Information

The original high school musical comes to Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre this September!

About Grease

Don't miss one of the greatest musicals of all time hit Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre this September. From 17th-28th September 2019 take some time to re-discover why Grease really is the one that you want. You’ll be singing along to classics like Summer Nights, and Greased Lightnin’. If you’re heading to the show from the 24 - 28 September, then you can look forward to a guest appearance from Peter Andre as Teen Angel.

The Story

After a summer of whirlwind romance, leather-clad bad boy Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are reunited at Rydell High for senior year. The show follows the trials and tribulations of teenage life for both the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. Expect plenty of Elvis-aping, hip shaking powers from the boys, paired with high-energy sparkle and shimmying from the girls. We follow the lives of Danny, Sandy, Rizzo, Kenickie and Frenchy as they navigate feelings of love, loss and everything in between.

History of Grease

Grease's original production made its stage debut in Chicago in 1971 before opening on Broadway the following year. By the time Grease closed on Broadway, it had run for over 3,000 performances- a record for the time. The London production opened in the West End in 1973 with a cast that included a then-unknown Richard Gere as Danny. A successful revival in London and New York followed the smash hit movie adaptation and the show has toured all over the globe ever since. One of the most successful shows in musical theatre history, Grease has wowed audiences for over 40 years and is still going strong!
