About Bat Out of Hell - The Musical
Directed by the award-winning theatre and opera director Jay Scheib, this 5* rock ‘n’ roll musical features many of the songs from the world-famous “Bat Out of Hell” albums with hits including ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’, ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth’, ‘Dead Ringer for Love’ and ‘Bat Out of Hell’, plus many more. Winner of Best Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2017, Jim Steinman’s smash-hit musical Bat Out of Hell is wowing audiences night after night at the iconic Dominion Theatre!
Bat Out of Hell – The Musical is a romantic rock ’n’ roll adventure about rebellious youth and passion-filled teenage love where Strat, the leader of The Lost gang as they roam the streets of the post-apocalyptic city, Obsidian. Strat is madly in love with the daughter of the despotic ruler of Obsidian, Falco, and Strat will stop at nothing to rescue Raven from the clutches of her tyrannical father. Despite all of the rock ‘n’ roll, Bat Out of Hell is a fun and vibrant musical – pushing boundaries on a traditional love story that can be enjoyed by all.
History of Bat Out of Hell - The Musical
Back in 1974 Steinman wrote a theatrical musical which featured many of the songs which went on to feature on one of the most influential albums of Jim Steinman’s collaboration with singer Meat Loaf, “Bat Out of Hell”, released in 1977. The album became one of the best-selling albums in music history, selling more than 50 million copies worldwide. Having gone full circle, and already wowed audiences in 2017 the show is now coming back to the stage in 2018.
Due to strong language, partial nudity and scenes of a sexual nature, the show is not recommended for children under the age of 12. Parental guidance should be used for children aged between 12 and 16. Children under the age of 5 cannot be admitted.
Following an acclaimed season at London’s Dominion Theatre, the producers of Bat Out of Hell The Musical have announced that the production will play its final performance on 5th January 2019.
Special Singalong Performances
The producers of Jim Steinman’s Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical are delighted to announce five special performances when the audience will be able to sing along with the cast to the classic hits. These performances will take place on Tuesday 28th August, Tuesday 25th September, Wednesday 31st October, Tuesday 27th November and Monday 31st December. On Halloween (31st October) and New Year’s Eve (31st December), the audiences will also have the option to come dressed as their favourite character from the show or from one of Meat Loaf’s iconic videos. The best dressed audience member on each night will go home that evening with a Bat Out Hell – The Musical poster signed by Meat Loaf himself. The show is providing a surtitle screen that will allow everyone who wants to, to sing along with the show.
