A very enjoyable 4 day stay at The Angel at Stoke by Nayland from where we visited Ickworth and Bury St Edmunds, the coastal towns of Woodbridge, Southwold and Aldeburgh and finally Constable See More  Read more information country around the Dedham valley. The hotel was in a good central position giving easy access to the area while nicely situated in a lovely quite country area. Excellent New Year Ball

5 course meal for 140 people was good, service excellent, only problem was the sweet course, too much chocolate. From the moment we checked in we were so pleased we booked this hotel, check in was quick easy and reception staff so helpful, our room was large and clean and peaceful as we had asked for. Every See More  Read more information meal we had including Christmas Day lunch was superb -beautifully cooked and presented, restaurant staff were excellent as were bar staff nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff all werepolite, friendly and cheerful. The hotel in places is a little dated but this did not change our opinion at all it was a wonderful 2 night Christmas break and we will be booking again. Festive break

Starting with small negatives, shower wasn't great - hard to get hot water in the mornings, problem with blocked pipes on Christmas Day was quickly rectified. Rooms could do with See More  Read more information updating. Positives - the staff were brilliant, Stephan and Anna and the rest of the team worked so hard and made us feel welcome and valued. The food was great, tasty, well presented and interesting. Lovely weekend meeting up with friends

We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, which although a little tired in places, bathroom in particular, was very peaceful once everyone had turned in for the night. Walls could do with See More  Read more information soundproofing as can hear taps being turned on in next room etc. Staff excellent, breakfast excellent, but evening dinner, steaks in particular not up to par. Amazing value for money
