Stay Date: 23/12/15, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Carrington House Hotel Christmas Break in Bournemouth wrote this review.

This hotel on the website looks fine. The entrance is fine. There it stops. The bedrooms are dire. The corridors and the bedrooms are in need of major refurbishment. For £80 a night it is well See More  Read more information overpriced and then on top of that you have to buy a breakfast voucher! A real shame.

Stay Date: 29/03/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* De Vere Beaumont Estate (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Windsor wrote this review.

Clean, warm and friendly hotel in utter chaos! Food was awful, room was 10 mins walk via a maze of confusing corridors, room keys not working, mattress topper instead of duvet on bed. Broken See More  Read more information furniture, no gf/veg option in the most chaotic dining room I've ever encountered. It was utter shambles, but it was very clean and warm and the Manager accepted our two pages of complaints and gave us verysatisfactory recompense immediately. We won't be going back in a hurry, but wish them all the best and hope they can get things sorted as they were were all very nice.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend in Bournemouth

Stay Date: 01/04/16, a customer aged 65+ from Hertfordshire who stayed at 3* Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth wrote this review.

The room was on the top floor and was only accessible by one dilapidated lift or stairs. The shower was almost unusable having hardly any water pressure. The Kings Bar (Java Lounge?) has a sign See More  Read more information saying that from 18.00 to 2100 is Happy Hour. What the sign neglects to say is that Happy Hour is only Monday to Thursday - a big disappointment! Not impressed with the hotel but the staff were verypleasant.   Collapse  Hide

Nightmare hotel

Stay Date: 06/08/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Oxford Spires Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Oxford wrote this review.

Hotel being refurbished - reception moved rooms only accessible via 400 metre walk. Very few staff speak or understand English. Chamberlain entered room to clean at 8 am. Went to breakfast on See More  Read more information return had to walk through corridor with stripped wet wallpaper. Complained extra items on bill wavered by manager. Dirty socks left in bathroom by previous guest! Wonder if room had beencleaned. Definitely not the place to go if you want rest and relaxation. Only redeeming feature was waitress and food at dinner. Staff should be trained in discreet quiet service. Would never visit again.   Collapse  Hide

Mis-sold

Stay Date: 22/10/17, a customer aged 25-44 from United Kingdom who stayed at 4* De Vere Beaumont Estate (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Windsor wrote this review.

I have never moaned about any accommodation, and I have stayed in all sorts of places. But this was the first time I have ever felt a bit ripped off or mis-sold. The hotel's website etc. all make it See More  Read more information look as you'd expect a '4 star' to be. However I was very disappointed with everything except the staff. The first room we were given was awful - dusty and cramped. So cramped you couldn't relax. Youcouldn't use the wardrobe properly as it was so near the bed and the bed was very close to a desk which was positioned terribly. No thought on space flow and how the room would feel was given by theway it was set up. Luckily, the staff were great and moved us...but it still took 2 more attempts as the second room was a long walk away and in a Travelodge type complex...not the hotel you see inthe photos. I have never asked to move rooms before. We did finally settle in an OK 'superior' room- it was an average room, nothing superior to a standard in a normal hotel. Then dinner... for a 4star place I had expected a dining experience, or at least a table, menu and waiter...it was a free for all buffet which reminded me of very cheap motorway hotels in France. It was a shock. The food wasnot great. Again it was not a relaxing experience. The tables are very very close together. The food is cheap buffet. The room was full of people. My overall feel is this is a hotel all about howmany people we can cram in in a very cheap way for maximum profit. I have never moaned before, but this was a massive disappointment and I would advise people to look elsewhere! The staff were excellentthough!   Collapse  Hide
