A Day Out At Powis Castle

We throughly enjoyed the castle grounds. There were formal gardens, areas for children to play and some wilder woodland. We will definitely go back to see how they change with the seasons. Extremely disapointed that an hotel of this grade should offer exactly the same dinner menu two nights running. Only staying to have a relaxing weekend so didnt explore much. Excellent hotel, friendly staff who are willing to help on whim. Nice clean pool, sauna, steam and ice rooms. Shrewsbury town is a nice place to have a nice shopping as it's bigger than I thought! Being a medeival town so there's lots of oldmedeival buildings all over the town. Ironbridge and it's museums were a joy to visit especially The Village one. The only downside was the coffee shops on site and the choice of very second rate bought in food. This was a great break in a really lovely welcoming hotel and proved to be excellent value for money. Unfortunately when we ate in the hotel bar on the 2nd night, they were overrun with Functions See More  Read more information and the meal and service was terrible.
