Hotel was good without being excellent, staff very good , meals very good. Location bit of a problem because it was so far from town , bus station etc. and this being a railbreak I ended up paying See More  Read more information another £120 - £150 on taxis, train fares and bus fares, this for a 3 night break made a Superbreak a little expensive. However weather was good and we had an excellent break   Collapse  Hide

Week End in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 31/08/13, a customer aged 45-64 from Reading who stayed at 4* Holyrood Aparthotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

The purpose of the visit was University Open Day but we spent the weekend walking around Edinburgh to see the sights and get a feel of the city having not been before. The hotel location was good, See More  Read more information fairly central but away from the very tourist areas. It was clean and spacious and had all the facilities we could ask for. We combined trip with the rail offer and the journey to and from Edinburghwas very pleasant and relaxing allowing us to see parts of the country we hadn't travelled through before which you wouldn't see from the air or by road.   Collapse  Hide

Great Edinburgh Weekend

Stay Date: 28/02/14, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 4* Holyrood Aparthotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

The Holyrood Aparthotel was very convenient for the Royal Mile and the City Centre. We had two double rooms at a very reasonable price, with joint lounge with all conveniences of TV, Hi-Fi and See More  Read more information adjoining kitchen with fridge and microwave. The breakfast provision in the kitchen was extensive - cereals, bread, butter, cream cheese, jam, marmalade, milk, tea, coffee, etc - spot on! Instantheating in the rooms and plentiful hot water in bath and shower were very welcome in cold February and the beds were snug and warm. The only minor complaint would be at the 8.00am bottle avalanche (X 3)from the adjoining hotel/cafe. Staff were very helpful and the room was beautifully serviced. We had no desire to use the hotel gym facilities, but these were available to us. We willdefinitely return to the Holyrood Aparthotel, plus rail travel, via Superbreak- terrific!   Collapse  Hide

Ok as a bed for the night...

Stay Date: 26/09/14, a customer aged 25-44 from Worcester who stayed at 3* Mercure Glasgow City in Glasgow wrote this review.

From the outside, this hotel looked great. It was in a perfect location close to Glasgow city centre and the train stations. However, it just went downhill from there. The receptionists did their See More  Read more information job, but no more. They even ignored us while we tried to work out where we were going on the map on their desk! The room was very small and a little tired. Water in the shower took forever to get warmand the breakfast (which we didn't have) cost £14 each... ridiculous when there are so many lovely places to eat nearby (try Lily and Lola's under Central Station). The cleaners made so much noiseoutside the door at 7.30am, I thought they were inside our room! If you want a city centre room you're not going to spend any time in, this may be the place for you, but please don't choose here for arelaxing holiday or romantic break.   Collapse  Hide

A few days in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 01/11/15, a customer aged 25-44 from Beverley who stayed at 4* Holyrood Aparthotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

The Holyrood ApartHotel was in a fantastic location for exploring Edinburgh; everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes walk from the train station, so See More  Read more information no need for a taxi. Our apartment was small, but more than enough space for the two of us. The room was cleaned every day to a very high standard. The room had a nice little kitchen and bathroom. Ouronly criticism was that it was a little noisy in the mornings. We visited Edinburgh Castle and the Camera Obscura which were both approximately a 15-20 minute walk away from the hotel; a verypleasant walk up the Royal Mile. We also went on a ghost walk with City of Edinburgh Tours which takes you to Greyfriars churchyard and underground; the guide on this tour was excellent! We ate at some greatplaces during our trip: Holyrood 9A (great burgers), The Dogs and Field. A lot of great restaurants to choose from. Overall, a brilliant break in a fantastic city!   Collapse  Hide
