Historic Edinburgh

Stay Central Hotel on Cowgate was very quirky hotel decor wise, our room was fabulous with tea/coffee facilities, lovely white fluffy towels, there was a disabled seat in the shower which needed a See More  Read more information good clean but as we didn't need to use it we had no complaints. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is near 2 hostels and although not far to walk to the Royal Mile it was a roadlayer below where we needed to be every day. Great break in Edinburgh

Lovely stay in the Winnock

Weekend in Glasgow

The staff at the Hallmark Hotel have to be the most friendly we have ever known in a hotel. Right from the reception check in to the restaurant and the spa they were all very friendly and helpful. See More  Read more information The breakfast and evening meal were excellent. The room could do with a wee bit of TLC but this in no affected our stay as the bed was comfy and the room very clean. Disappointing stay in Irvine

Jurys Inn Hotel situated in heart of old Edinburgh a few steps from Royal Mile. Breakfast options were vast and beautifully cooked especially as self-service. Also near to Edinburgh Castle and Greyfriars Kirk (famous for Greyfriars Bobby canine story). Easy bus ride to explore the Royal YachtBritannia, which was well worth a visit. Museum of Scotland and the Museum of Childhood well worth a visit plus a tour of ancient Edinburgh which now forms the underground foundations of modern Edinburgh.Arthur's Seat and Monument a must for those with energetic legs. Shoppers will love Princes Street. So much to see and do - even nice to walk around the clean streets and marvel at the imposingly tallbuildings. Everything within walking distance and all the above achieved in 3.5 days! Hotel 3 Star was good. It was traffic noisy as it was on Princes Street but one would expect that. Virgin Train journey to Edinburgh First Class. This train was cancelled therefore seat reservations See More  Read more information were void. To avoid changes on the journey we waited until the 2.15. Were moved twice to find seats! The return journey Cross Country Rail was very disappointing. 11.06 from Edinburgh to Birmingham.First Class. No food only crisps and biscuits! Staff on both trains very apologetic but it was out of their hands. Cross Country should be told! Whilst not wishing to complain we feel that Virgin andCross Country should be asked for compensation. Check in was quick and the luggage was delivered to our room. Beautiful room with a roll top bath and huge bed! Very clean and tidy and a little tuck shop with sweetsand treats a great touch after a long journey!
