Weekend in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 04/05/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Our family of four - inc. two girls aged 10 and 12 - had a lovely long weekend in Edinburgh. Organising the whole trip via Superbreaks was effortless and, most importantly, excellent value for See More  Read more information money. It was a spur of the moment decision to go so it was great that Superbreaks offered exactly what we wanted - a hassle-free, inexpensive weekend away. The London-Edinburgh train journeys werepainless and the 4+ hours wizzed by. Our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express just off the Royal Mile, was in a perfect location to not only to walk from the station but also to walk around the city sights. Hotelservice was great and the continental breakfast was much more than just that. We visited the zoo to see the giant pandas, did more than a bit of shopping and ate very well. All in all, a wonderful fewdays away. Thanks for making the whole trip both affordable and memorable.   Collapse  Hide

Edinburgh

Stay Date: 10/09/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 2* Britannia Hotel Edinburgh in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Hotel staff helpful and pleasant. View from the hotel room was lovely - river and woodland, but this was spoilt by accumulated rubbish thrown onto the flat roof outside room that had not been See More  Read more information cleared up. Minor things cosmetically to the hotel could make a huge improvement. The hotel was clean, though very very basic and tatty in some areas - but it was cheap and you get what you pay for.Reminded me of some youth hostels I have stayed in. If you want a no frills bed for the night it's fine. Walked from railway station - supposed to be 1.2 mls away from station - that may be as the crowflies, but more like 2.5miles on foot?   Collapse  Hide

Great weekend in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 12/10/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Edinburgh House Hotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

We had a great weekend in Edinburgh visiting our son, a student at the University of Edinburgh. Travel arrangements excellent ,no problems whatsoever. Hotel ideally situated to our son's hall of See More  Read more information residence. However, hotel essentially clean, in process of being refurbished ! Very 'hick' organisation, bedroom dingy ,shower could do with a good clean. Windows very draughty ,curtains difficult todraw. Would not consider staying at hotel again ! Should not be included in list of recommended accommodation in Edinburgh. Could not complain to management as no one available to speak to after 10 00am, had to leave key with a cleaner who did not speak English!   Collapse  Hide

Edinburgh - A Quick Break

Stay Date: 03/01/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Best Western Braid Hills Hotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Hotel was excellent and only a short bus ride from the city centre -only £3.50 for an unlimited ticket. Staff were great, food excellent, would definitely recommend. Only draw back - far too hot, See More  Read more information and the bed was incredibly hard. We did the castle, Mary King's Close, Princes Street where we enjoyed the shopping. The xmas market and funfair were still on and were great. Over to the Royal Mile andthe Old Town, saw Holyrood and Greyfriars Bobby. Drove over Forth Bridge, saw the Royal yacht. An all round fantastic weekend.   Collapse  Hide

Great find

Stay Date: 25/01/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Perth who stayed at 4* Novotel Edinburgh Centre in Edinburgh wrote this review.

This is a great hotel at an excellent rate for Edinburgh! But there is the art college and student union to the rear of the hotel and the drunken shouting was awful. Not the hotels fault at all but See More  Read more information we didn't get the best of sleep. We mentioned it the next morning and the staff suggested that when we come back - which we will as it's a lovely hotel in a great location - we request a quiet room. Can recommend the hotel.   Collapse  Hide

The Royal Highland Hotel is ideally situated being next to the railway station. It is popular with tour groups. The room was rather small but comfortable. Never Again!

Stay Date: 15/08/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Manchester who stayed at 3* Adamton Country House Hotel (Half Board Offer & Wine) in Prestwick Airport wrote this review.

The hotel has a grand description but when you get there the description does not match! The room was dirty with stains on the bedding. The bathroom was unclean, new soap put in a dirty dish. You See More  Read more information could write your name in the dust in the bar area. The food was just awful. It was carvery style. The meat was dry and cold. The vegetables were all shrivelled. It was so bad we only stayed onenight (and not 3) and that was only because my husband had already driven for almost 4 hours to get there and was too tired to drive some more. Do not go there.   Collapse  Hide
