The hotel was a few minutes walk from the train station it has obviously had a lot of money spent on it. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Fantastic break in Edinburgh

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and the location of the hotel itself was ideal. The hotel staff made you feel really welcome from the time you walked through the front door to you leaving. Although we were just on an overnight break, we arrived, were greeted with a glass of See More  Read more information Prosecco, we checked in and made full use of the lovely spa facilities. The room was excellent with a massive double bed and a well stocked mini bar should you require it. We ate in the Jigger Innattached to the hotel and the food was really good and the staff could not be nicer. Having a late breakfast (up to 11am) was terrific so we could have leisurely lie in. Fantastic stay at The Principal Hotel, George Street. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night - the food was great but it was quite chilly in the dining room. Really close to Waverley Station and everywhere else. We walked everywhere, including to Leith (about 50mins). The Royal Mile and Rose Street were favourites. Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location!

Friendly staff at the door to welcome you and help with luggage. Arrived about 20 mins before check in and our room wasn’t ready so the concierge took our luggage and we went for a quick coffee in See More  Read more information the hotel's coffee shop next door! Check in was quick and the luggage was delivered to our room. Beautiful room with a roll top bath and huge bed! Very clean and tidy and a little tuck shop with sweetsand treats a great touch after a long journey!
