London Rocks This Summer!16 March 2009

With Blur, Oasis and Springsteen all taking to the stage

This summer, some of the leading rock bands and artists are hitting the Capital including Oasis, rock legend Bruce Springsteen and bit pop’s finest, Blur. There’s nothing better than an open-air venue such as Hyde Park or Wembley on a summers evening listening to some of the best music around. Short break specialist, Superbreak still has packages available that combine overnight accommodation with tickets to the concerts.

Packages available include:

HARD ROCK CALLING FEATURING BRUCE SPRINGTEEN – Hyde Park – 28 June – from £175pp - Hard Rock Calling 2009 features the legendary Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band who are set to perform their first ever UK festival appearance at Hyde Park performing to 45,000 fans. Joining them are American rockers, Dave Matthews Band plus New Jersey outfit, The Gaslight Anthem. This performance will be Bruce Springsteen's first ever-festival appearance outside of the United States. Packages start from £175 per person including one night’s b/b at the four star Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch and a ticket to the gig. Based on two sharing.

BLUR – Hyde Park – 3 July 2009 – two night package from £147.50pp – Blur have been one of Britain's most popular bands for many years. Their first UK top ten single was the baggy-influenced ‘There's No Other Way’, but it was the genre-defining album ‘Parklife’ and single ‘Girls and Boys’ that saw them become the leaders of the emerging ‘Britpop’ scene. Despite the departure of guitarist Graham Coxon to work on solo material, and singer Damon Albarn's numerous side projects (including the electronic band Gorillaz), Blur remain as vital as ever, and, as demonstrated by their recent Greatest Hits collection, one of Britain's most important bands. Two night start from £147.50 per person including two night’s b/b in a twin room at the three star Imperial Hotel Londonon Russell Street and a ticket to the gig. Based on two sharing for stays on 2 and 3 July only.

OASIS – Wembley Stadium – 9, 11 or 12 July 2009 – from £135pp - 2009 sees Oasis announce plans for their biggest ever tour of open air venues in the UK and Ireland on the back of their sold-out UK arena tour, including the fabulous Wembley Stadium. Famed for their ‘bad boy’ image and wild lifestyles, Liam and Noel Gallagher front one of the biggest bands in UK history. Their long list of catchy smash hits include ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ proving that behind the attitude and arrogance lies their ability to write very clever pop tunes. Packages start from £135 per person including one night’s b/b at the three star St Giles Hotel just off Oxford Street and a ticket to the gig. Based on two sharing.
