Some of the hottest concert, events and sports packages in 2008 are now on sale through Superbreak as demand for these types of breaks continues to grow. In the last 12 months, over 10,000 customers have been booked through agents onto packages including either a ticket to a concert, sporting event or themed event such as the Edinburgh Festival which is up 30% on the previous year. The operator equates some of this growth to the opening of the 02 Arena in London which has fast become a leading venue and the reforming of groups such as the Spice Girls, Take That and Boyzone.
With new packages coming on sale all the time, the operator has targeted growth through agents of 25% in 2008. Chris Cundall, sales office manager at Superbreak comments “The opportunities for agents here are excellent as often we have concerts and events on sale that are already sold out direct with the venue and this give agents a real USP that they need to exploit but promoting them hard. The O2 Arena in London has become a leading venue and the feedback has been excellent on it. It certainly looks like it is here to stay we currently have the likes of Boyzone, Avril Lavigne, Rhianna, Shane Ward and many more on sale. We expect more exciting packages to come on sale through 2008 with rumours of some great concerts and events that we know will entice customers through agents doors if they publicise them in every way possible.”
