Prague Holiday Reviews

Prague, Czech Republic

Situated in the north west of the Czech Republic, the capital city of Prague offers a captivating backdrop of historical attractions, striking architecture and an excellent choice of hotels on both sides of the River Vltava. Many of our hotels in Prague are located in the city's compact centre which is embellished in rich history.

Prague is one of Europe's most popular city-break destinations and is therefore very easy to travel to. Most UK airport offer flights to Prague with up to five flights a day from London Heathrow alone. Choose from our excellent range of Prague flight breaks when planning your trip to the "city of a thousand spires"

  • Prague Old Town Square is the centre of the Medieval city and now houses many fantastic eateries as well as a host of trendy bars. From here you can explore the Jewish Quarter, take in the splendor of the astronomical clock and stroll across the 15th century Charles Bridge.
  • Prague Castle is one of the world's largest and oldest castles and is one of Prague's most popular tourist destinations. The castle contains the Crown Jewels of the Kings of Bohemia although they are only exhibited on special occasions. St Vitus Cathedral is also located within the castle. 3 day visit to Prague

Stay Date: 28/06/19, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 4* Red & Blue Design Hotel Prague in Prague wrote this review.

Stayed at Red & Blue Design Hotel. Location good - 5 min walk to trams/buses. Using the trams very easy and would recommend their use. Hotel staff extremely helpful and can organise booking many See More  Read more information tours and provide a great deal of advice. We booked a half day tour for the first morning after arrival which enables you to have a snapshot of the sites and therefore helps you identify whichplaces/attractions you may want to explore in greater detail. A beautiful city with a wide river and impressive bridges. Unusually for mainland Europe there are many fantastic original buildings untouched bywar. A must place to visit!   Collapse  Hide

Prague in Late Winter

Stay Date: 05/03/18, a customer aged 65+ from Piltdown who stayed at 5* Kings Court Hotel in Prague wrote this review.

We made our own way from the airport to the hotel by public transport, which was so easy, efficient and cheap. The hotel was absolutely first class in every way. Prague is a walking city, but beware See More  Read more information of the cobbled streets and pavements everywhere. Our hotel was situated in the most central position for all the attractions. The castle was 30 mins walk, but a very pleasant walk over CharlesBridge.   Collapse  Hide

An excellent week in Prague

Stay Date: 26/09/16, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 3* Prague Centre Superior in Prague wrote this review.

This is a beautiful city full of medieval, baroque and art nouveau buildings, also some art deco and even a few cubist. The centre is easily walkable, but even so we would recommend buying a 3-day See More  Read more information travel pass from the tourist office; it's valid for trams, metro, buses and even the funicular railway that takes you up Petrin Hill to the Observation Tower (well worth a visit for great views overthe city). It saves some uphill slogs when moving away from the river and it's surprising to see/experience the trams powering up the steepish streets at around 30mph. There are excellent cafes andrestaurants - with prices generally a little cheaper than in the UK, but the coffee & cake generally more delicious ... and it's possible to enjoy memorable cuisine, though also possible to findyourself confronted with a plate of lumpy mashed potato, so read the reviews and be discriminating. We don't speak Czech so we were impressed by the number of people speaking astoundingly good English, and by their friendliness and helpfulness. All in all, an excellent place to visit. Don't neglect the New Town, which has some lovely neighbourhoods and cafes and is altogether less frenetic.   Collapse  Hide
