The hotel was great and the facilities were excellent. However if traveling to other areas using the hotel as a base you have to travel down a not so cared for road with pot holes the size of See More  Read more information craters and outside the local school the speed humps were like small mountains. Great Mini Break

Stay Date: 07/06/13, a customer aged 25-44 who stayed at 4* Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa in Nr Aberfoyle (Trossachs) wrote this review.

Stayed at the Macdonald Forest Hills. Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens surrounding. Idyllic location with loch and forests all around. The facilities were good. The bistro where we ate had See More  Read more information excellent welcoming service. The food was ok but not great. The hotel room was lovely and clean. My only concern was the pull out bed which was really worn and my children found really uncomfortable. Across from the hotel was an outdoor sports place where you could have fun in the water on the blow up water assault course. There were canoes and pedallos etc to go out on all at reasonable costs. Wewent a car run into Aberfoyle which had a few lovely shops and eating places.   Collapse  Hide

This hotel was beautiful. It was set within the grounds of Scotland's National Park (The Trossachs) and had beautiful views of the lochs and mountains. Plenty of walking routes and scenery to enjoy. See More  Read more information The spa and wellbeing building was second to none and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was to die for and I can honestly not fault this hotel.   Collapse  Hide

Relaxing Stay

Stay Date: 30/10/11, a customer who stayed at 4* Stonefield Castle Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Tarbert wrote this review.

The short break was to unwind for 2 days. The hotel grounds were lovely to walk around and just chill out, good relaxing few days would go back. The only down side no transport into town. A Very Pleasant Break

Stay Date: 29/10/11, a customer from Uk who stayed at 2* Muthu Royal Thurso Hotel in Thurso wrote this review.

We had not been to Scotland before and noticed this very reasonably priced break. It was a very long way for us and we arrived quite late in the evening. The first thing we noticed was a very See More  Read more information friendly welcome from the receptionist followed by a nice, comfy looking room. It contained all we needed for a short stay. Thurso is a very nice little place, not too much to do there and we found itrather expensive but it is understandable when everywhere is so spread apart. We would recommend this hotel and location to anyone who fancies a quiet time in a beautiful place. Just one fault, a rathercreaky bed with hard pillows, maybe just pack your own pillows before you go.   Collapse  Hide

Lovely Views

Stay Date: 04/10/11, a customer from Uk who stayed at 4* Stonefield Castle Hotel in Tarbert wrote this review.

Stayed here one night at the end of a touring holiday. The hotel was positioned with lovely views over the loch and was very secluded giving good walks in the grounds. The room was large as you See More  Read more information would expect in a castle and the ensuite bathroom was definitely a great improvement on more modern hotels.
