Yorkshire enjoyed tourism boom during April

Yorkshire's tourism numbers have been boosted by those taking short breaks in the county, new figures have revealed.
Welcome to Yorkshire said that there has been a rise on last year's figures, with the good weather and recent bank holiday weekends playing a part.
National Trust statistics show that Wakefield's Nostell Priory welcomed 25 per cent more visitors last month than during the same period last year, according to the BBC.
"We are delighted to have support from so many visitors, whether they come regularly to Nostell or it is their first time," said Nostell property manager Kevin Dessoy.
Furthermore, North Yorkshire tourism hotspots Beningbrough Hall and Fountains Abbey have also seen visitor numbers rise markedly during April.
The recently completed World Snooker Championships in Sheffield were also praised by Welcome to Yorkshire, with chief executive Gary Verity stating that the event provides "a great international showcase" for the county.
