Yes, Prime Minister to take up residence in London

The theatre version of hit television series Yes, Prime Minister is returning to London's West End later this year.

Richard McCabe and Simon Williams will take up the main roles of British leader Jim Hacker and cabinet secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby respectively.

Those booking London theatre breaks will be able to see the production at the Apollo theatre between Wednesday July 6th and Saturday September 17th.

The play, which puts a hilarious twist on the political scene, has been adapted from the small screen by original writers Jonathan Lynn and Anthony Jay.

Williams made his name by starring in Upstairs Downstairs and Don't Wait Up, while he has also appeared in The Power of Yes at the National Theatre, among other London shows.

McCabe has been seen in a number of stage and film productions, including Notting Hill and Spooks, while he has also worked with the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Currently, Yes, Prime Minister is on tour and will be showing in Leicester, Malvern, Plymouth and Aylesbury next month.
