Wild Lochaber Festival to Showcase Scotland's Wildlife
Date Posted: 01/05/13
With spring now in full swing the natural scenery around the UK is beginning to bloom, and nowhere more so than north of the border in Scotland.
Whales and dolphins are regularly seen off the Scottish coast at this time of year, making the country the perfect destination for wildlife enthusiasts looking for ideas for weekend breaks.
To help nature lovers make the most of their time in Scotland, the second Wild Lochaber Festival will be taking place from May 18th to 25th, offering visitors the chance to take part in activities such as wildlife walks, guided sea kayaking and whale-watching boat trips.
The Lochaber region is home to some of the country's most stunning landscapes, including Ben Nevis and the Small Isles, and is the best place to see the so-called Scottish Big Five of otters, golden eagles, red deer, harbour seals and red squirrels, as well as basking sharks and many species of aquatic mammals.
