Wallace and Gromit Recommend a Trip to York
Date Posted: 01/05/13
The UK is full of fascinating towns and cities, with a long and interesting history as well as plenty of exciting attractions that are perfect for people on weekend breaks. However, with so many different locations to choose from it can be difficult to decide where to go, which is why two of the country's best loved animated characters have been putting together a guide to tourism in the UK.
Wallace and Gromit have teamed up with VisitEngland to give visitors a helping hand with regards to discovering the nation's top locations, and the first place they recommend a trip to is York.
With many York hotels catering for dogs, it's the perfect place for pet owners to go on holiday, and nearby areas such as the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Park also make for excellent walkies.
Those who aren't planning on travelling with animals will also find a wealth of fantastic things to see and do in the old walled city, which is home to Europe's oldest shopping street as well as the National Railway Museum.
