Visit the Kensington Dollshouse Festival
Date Posted: 28/04/14
Miniature enthusiasts should head to the Kensington Dollshouse Festival on May 17th and 18th, taking place at Kensington Town Hall.
The festival has been running since 1985 and is the leading event for craftsmen and miniature enthusiasts from around the world.
It features over 170 of the top dollhouse and miniature makers from around the globe and showcases the best in miniature figurines, model furniture and accessories. 95 per cent of all the items at the festival are handmade and most can be bought to add to your collection.
For both children and adults, the event attracts visitors from as far and wide as Japan, the USA and the rest of Europe and also offers a variety of talks and workshops.
Adults can learn how to sculpt the male and female figure and how to do 17th century needlework, while kids can take part in the Golden Scavenger Hunt or create things at the Gingerbread Craft Club.
Festival entry costs £13 for adults and £4 for children and is open from 11am to 5:30pm on the Saturday and 10am to 5pm on the Sunday.
Visit the event during a London hotel break and see what treasures you can pick up for your own dollhouse.
