Visit Guernsey for its Annual Floral Festival
Date Posted: 19/06/14
Anyone looking for an alternative weekend break this summer should consider hopping on one of the ferries to Guernsey in time for the island’s spectacular floral festival.
The Floral Guernsey Summer Festival will begin on Saturday July 5th and run until Sunday July 13th.
Over the course of the nine-day event, visitors can go on guided walks, explore open gardens and even attend a garden photography workshop with Clive Nichols.
There will also be summer garden parties that promise lots of family fun and even a guided tour of neighbouring island Herm to discover some of its exotic gardens, where sub-tropical plants thrive thanks to the mild climate.
If this sounds like the kind of event you’d be interested in, take a look at the ferry crossings available from the likes of Weymouth and Poole on England’s south coast. The journey takes between 2.5 and three hours, depending on the weather and port of departure.
