Visit Belfast on a budget
Date Posted: 25/04/12
There are plenty of things to do in Belfast for travellers on a budget, especially if you can get out of the city to see the surrounding, beautiful landscape that Northern Ireland is famed for.
You will find an array of exciting free attractions just a stone's throw from Belfast hotels. At the Ulster Museum you can get up close and personal with dinosaurs, meet a real Egyptian mummy and delve into the history of Northern Ireland.
After exploring the museum, why not meander around the beautiful Botanic Gardens?
Belfast's murals may represent a dark time in the history of Ireland, but they are a poignant and impressive reminder of the country's political past.
You can wander around the neighbourhoods of the Loyalist Shankill and staunchly Republican Falls in order to see the murals for yourself.
If you have access to a car, why not drive out to the Giant's Causeway? The hour and a half journey is well worth the wait to see one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Alternatively, there are bus tours to the site from Belfast that cost a mere £16 per person.
