Victoria Wood Play Set to Open in Manchester
Date Posted: 12/09/13
A Victoria Wood-penned play is set to be staged in Manchester from the beginning of December.
That Day We Sang, a show by the Housewife 49 and Dinnerladies star, will begin its run at The Royal Exchange on December 5th.
Interested would-be audience members could try booking hotel breaks in the city in preparation for a trip to see it.
The show has previously been staged as part of the Manchester International Festival but has been revamped for the new production, to suit the theatre it will now call home until January 18th.
The play focuses on the characters of Enid and Tubby, both of whom once sang in the same school choir, and is set in the late 1960s.
It is described by organisers as being suitable for families, and they have suggested that it's appropriate for kids over ten. The show would likely make a fun festive trip.
