Van Morrison to play first Irish dates in a decade
Date Posted: 16/11/11
World-renowned performer Van Morrison will play his first Irish dates in more than a decade, including one in the Northern Irish capital.
Fans booking Belfast hotels will be able to see the Brown Eyed Girl singer at the Odyssey Arena on Friday February 3rd, with his other show taking place in Dublin.
Known as one of the most original recording artists out there, Van is renowned for his live shows which take music from top-selling albums such as Astral Weeks, Moondance and Enlightenment.
Along with his six Grammy Awards, Van is a member of the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Hall of Fame, while Brown Eyed Girl, Madame George and Moondance are also all in the Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list.
While his music often revolves around soul and R&B, many of Morrison's tracks take influence from spiritually-inspired journeys and his Celtic background, having been born in Belfast 66 years ago.
