Aberdeen hotels could book up quickly this May as the city's university gets set to launch an exciting new festival celebrating local arts, food and culture.
The University of Aberdeen's May Festival will run from May 10th to 12th and incorporate a host of different themes including literature, food and nutrition, music, film, science and Gaelic, as well as a showcase of the topical research-led projects the university is currently undertaking.
Just some of the highlights of the festival's programme include a cooking challenge with renowned Scottish chef Nick Nairn, an enchanting performance from acclaimed singer Julie Fowlis and readings from Liz Lochhead, arguably Scotland’s best loved modern-day poet and playwright.
University of Aberdeen principal and vice-chancellor Sir Ian Diamond said: "The programme for the May Festival is absolutely fantastic and I am proud that the
University of Aberdeen is hosting an event which will bring so much variety to the city this May."
Tickets are available now through the university's website.
