Tudor Cookery at Hampton Court Palace
Date Posted: 27/03/14
From April 22nd to 25th and April 29th to May 2nd, the Tudor kitchens at Hampton Court Palace will be holding live cookery demonstrations for visitors.
So if you’ve ever wondered what type of food kings ate hundreds of ago, then now’s your chance. You’ll get to experience first-hand the smells and sounds of 500 years ago as the palace’s team of Tudor cooks experiment with recipes, ingredients and cooking methods to prepare a feast fit for a king.
The Tudor kitchens at Hampton Court once fed King Henry VIII and his family and also continued to serve as the royal court kitchens for a further two hundred years, feeding the tables of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian monarchs and their many courtiers.
Visit Hampton Court Palace as part of a London hotel break and discover all about the lives of King Henry VII and his family and explore the apartments of King William III and Queen Mary II, as well as the vast and stunning royal gardens.
