Trinidad and Tobago Comes to West End
Date Posted: 07/05/13
Those who regularly visit London will no doubt be aware of the many connections that the UK capital has with Caribbean culture, with the Notting Hill Carnival being the best example of this.
Anyone who isn't able to make it to the city for the big August bank holiday event will be pleased to know that the Trinidad and Tobago Tourist Board is putting on its own display of Caribbean life this month by hosting the World in the West End street party next Sunday (May 11th).
The event will include an array of performances including live music and soca dancers, while a parade of carnival girls decked out in flamboyant costumes will help to bring a taste of the two islands to the centre of London.
Taking place along the length of Regent Street, the festival will also give visitors the chance to sample the best in Caribbean cuisine, with rum and chocolate tasting sessions running throughout the day.
