Thai New Year Celebrations to Take Place in Covent Garden
Date Posted: 08/04/13
Visitors to London looking for something a little different this weekend may be interested to hear that the Tourism Authority of Thailand will be hosting a series of events to celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year, in Covent Garden on April 12th and 13th.
For two days, St Martin's Courtyard will resemble the streets of Bangkok, with several traditional Thai activities on offer including indulging in one of the country's famous massages.
A Thai food and drink market will also be erected in the heart of the capital, with all dishes being prepared by one of London's leading oriental restaurants, while popular Thai beers such as Chang and Singha will be on sale.
London breaks are popular among tourists looking for a truly cosmopolitan and multicultural experience, which is why this particular temporary attraction is sure to go down well with visitors and locals alike.
Guests will be able to have their photo taken in an authentic Thai tuk-tuk, and will also have the chance to win a holiday for two to Thailand.
