Tate Britain to Host New Painting Show
Date Posted: 19/07/13
Tomma Abts and Catherine Story are just two of the five painters whose work is set to go under the spotlight in an upcoming Tate Britain show.
The winter exhibition, which is called 'Painting Now: Five Contemporary Artists' will also see work by Gillian Carnegie, Lucy McKenzie and Simon Ling displayed.
Kicking-off on November 12th at the well known art venue, the exhibition will be there across much of the winter season, until February 9th.
Housed in the Level 2 Galleries, it will look at the art form of painting, something all five artists involved have worked in.
"Each of the five artists has adopted an approach to painting that both exploits and subverts its conventions," the organisers say.
Tate Britain is currently the venue for an exhibition of pieces by LS Lowry, which closes in October.
Art fans could search out hotels in London to find a place to stay when they go and see one or both of these exhibitions in the capital.
