Swallows and Amazons to get Christmas London run
Date Posted: 26/07/11
Swallows and Amazons is coming to the capital later this year, providing the ideal Christmas entertainment for families booking London theatre breaks.
The production is based on Arthur Ransome's children's novel and will open at the Vaudeville theatre on Thursday December 15th, closing on Saturday January 14th.
It will look to build on the success of a run at the Bristol Old Vic last year, where it thrilled both young and old.
Aimed at those aged six and older, Swallows and Amazons follows the adventures of the Walker and Blackett kids who sail to Wildcat Island in a dinghy to take on the pirates and defeat an intimidating enemy.
The musical also features work from Neil Hannon, who is best known for appearing in Irish group The Divine Comedy, who have had hits such as The National Express.
Currently, The Tiger Who Came to Tea is entertaining audiences at the Vaudeville theatre, and this runs until Sunday September 4th.
