Spitting Image at the Cartoon Museum
Date Posted: 17/02/14
From February 26th to June 8th, London’s Cartoon Museum will be putting on an exhibition entitled Spitting Image.
The new exhibition will feature all the famous caricatures and puppets from the award-winning British satirical TV show Spitting Image.
It will show famous faces such as Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Richard Branson, and Michael Jackson, as well as a host of faces from the royal family.
The Cartoon Museum opened in 2006 and features the collection of the Cartoon Art Trust, which dates back to 1988. It includes cartoons, caricatures and pages of comic-strip art and displays works by a number of fine Victorian cartoonists including John Leech, George Cruikshank and George Du Maurier, as well as more modern artists such as William Heath Robinson and H.M. Bateman.
Visit the exhibit as part of a last minute break to London, taking in nearby sights such as the British Museum and Pollock’s Toy Museum.
