The Globe Theatre's summer run of the Taming of the Shrew is set to star Simon Paisley Day as Petruchio opposite Samantha Spiro as Katherina.

In the play, Paisley Day's character attempts to get the wild shrew, Katherina, to marry him so that he can enjoy her wealth. Only he must tame her to meet her father's dowry requirements and subsequently succeed in his objective.
Paisley Day has most recently starred in Twelfth Night at the National Theatre where he played Malvolio. He has also been in Private Lives at the Vaudeville Theatre and The Ugly One at the Royal Court.
Being Human, Sherlock and Hustle are just a few of his latest television credits.
Other figures joining Paisley Day and Spiro at the Globe this summer include Brid Brennan, Sam Cox, Beruce Khan and David Hargreaves.
