Simon Callow's Being Shakespeare to transfer to West End
Date Posted: 03/05/11
Simon Callow is bringing his Being Shakespeare show to the West End later this year following a successful spell at the Richmond Theatre.
It will run in front of those booking London theatre breaks at Trafalgar Studios 1 from Wednesday June 15th to Saturday July 23rd.
Also known as Shakespeare – The Man from Stratford, Callow's one-man show takes a look into the life of the world's most famous playwright, bringing to stage some of his most memorable characters.
Previously, he received a Whatsonstage.com nomination for Best Solo Performance after premiering the production at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in June last year.
Callow has had further success with solo shows, including The Mystery of Charles Dickens and Dr Marigold & Mr Chops, while he has also appeared alongside Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Waiting for Godot.
Currently, Trafalgar Studios is showing End of the Rainbow, with Tracie Bennett taking the role of Judy Garland in the hit show.
