Simon Callow returns in The Mystery of Charles Dickens
Date Posted: 09/08/12
Simon Callow is making his way back to the West End next in September to return to the role of Charles Dickens in a revival of Peter Ackroyd's The Mystery of Charles Dickens.
Fans of Callow should book theatre breaks in London between Thursday, September 13th and Saturday, November 3rd to attend a performance of the show at the Playhouse Theatre.
The Mystery of Charles Dickens will mark the bicentenary of the famed author, taking audiences on a voyage with haughty beadles, inebriated midwives and parties among the high society.
It was first performed in the West End in 2000, and Callow was noted for his impeccable performance.
He is no stranger to performing as legends of the literary world, as he joins the cast at the Playhouse after playing the lead role in the Trafalgar Studios production of Being Shakespeare. However, he is most famous for appearing in the British films Four Weddings and a Funeral and Shakespeare in Love.
