Shetland Isles Among Lonely Planet's Top Seven Sunrises
Date Posted: 01/05/13
Anyone looking for inspiration for short breaks around the UK may want to take a look at Lonely Planet's guide to the seven best places in the world to watch a sunrise.
Included in the list are the Shetland Isles, which can be found off the northern coast of Scotland, and are known for their dramatic landscapes and stunning natural beauty.
According to Lonely Planet, spring and autumn are the best times of year to visit the region if you're after a perfect sunrise, so those thinking of making a trip to the UK's northernmost point may want to get their skates on and head up to Shetland over the next few weeks.
A sense of peace and quiet is guaranteed, with the guide claiming that "the remote beaches make the perfect spot for seeing the sun come up and we promise you'll be in sweet isolation, untroubled by tourist hordes".
