See the Vikings at the British Museum
Date Posted: 13/02/14
If you’ve ever wondered about the lives and legends of the Vikings, then now is your chance to find out, as the British Museum is holding its first major Viking exhibition in over 30 years.
Running from March 6th to June 22nd, the new exhibition has been created in conjunction with the National Museum of Denmark and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums in Berlin) and features Viking artefacts never before seen in the UK, as well as ones from the museum’s own collection.
Things to look out for include the wreck of a 37-metre-long Viking warship, the longest ever found and the Vale of York Hoard, which will be shown in its entirety at the British Museum for the first time since it was discovered in 2007.
Why not make a short break out of your visit to the exhibition and museum by visiting some of London’s other famous museums such as the Victoria & Albert and the Natural History Museum?
