See the V&A’s new exhibit on Wedding Dresses
Date Posted: 28/02/14
If you’ve got an interest in fashion, then head to the V&A this May, when the museum’s new spring exhibit will be looking at wedding dresses through the ages.
Running from May 3rd 2014, Wedding Dresses 1775-2014 will look at how the classic white dress has been interpreted by designers and how it has changed over the past two centuries.
It will feature over 80 of the some of the most glamorous and extravagant wedding dresses including the embroidered silk coat design worn by The Duchess of Cornwall for the blessing after her marriage to HRH The Prince of Wales, the purple Vivienne Westwood dress chosen by Dita Von Teese’ and the Dior outfits worn by Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale on their wedding day in 2002.
As well as wedding dresses there will also be accessories such as veils, jewellery, garters and shoes on display.
See the exhibit on a city break to the capital, perhaps searching for other types of fashion along the King’s Road in Chelsea or the vintage stores in Spitalfields.
