Scotland is full of wonderful castles, says star of Disney Pixar's Brave
Date Posted: 20/08/12
The castles Disney Pixar used to inspire its latest animated feature Brave are a fantastic reason to go on short breaks to Scotland.
Star of the film, Callum O'Neill, explained that Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Dunnottar Castle and Eilean Donan Castle were all used as source material for the film. They are beautiful structures and really showcase the wonderful history of Scotland.
He also recommends visitors try their hand at archery and horse riding while they are north of the border.
Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre in Dumfries and Galloway and Craggan Outdoors in the Cairngorms National Park are great places to give archery a go.
If you want to ride a horse just like the Clydesdale Merida in Brave mounts, then take a trip to the National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbridge, which is close to Glasgow and offers great horse riding opportunities.
What's great about Brave is that fans of the film do not need to go off to some magical park with big rides to experience it properly, added Mr O'Neill. It exists in real life, it's Scotland's people, scenery and activities.
