Scarlett Johansson to act in the West End?
Date Posted: 18/01/13
The West End has long been known for its ability to attract some of the world's biggest stars to the stage, and this is undoubtedly one of the reasons why London theatre breaks are so popular.
And, if her latest comments prove sincere, Scarlett Johansson could become the next Hollywood actor to perform on stage in the capital.
The 28-year-old has won many plaudits for her recent portrayal as Maggie in the revival of Tennessee Williams’ classic 1955 play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in New York.
There are rumours the play is set to come to the West End now that its run in Broadway is over.
And speaking to the Evening Standard this week, Johansson commented: "I would love to do something on the West End.
"I love to see theatre in the West End. I love London and have spent tons of time there. I’d like that to be next."
Meanwhile, there are currently plenty of big names already treading the boards in the UK capital, including the likes of James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe and Helen Mirren, making London shows among some of the most star-studded around.
