RSC's Written on the Heart to transfer to West End
Date Posted: 27/02/12
David Edgar's Written on the Heart, which is produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), is to move to the West End's Duchess Theatre from April.
Fans of David Edgar looking to catch the production on theatre breaks in London only have until July to see the renowned play.
It will have a limited run from Monday, April 23rd to Saturday, July 21st while previews will begin four days earlier on Thursday, April 19th.
Written on the Heart has been met with great plaudits since its release last winter, which has prompted its move from the RSC home at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The drama marks the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible, with the plot encompassing an 80-year period where the bible is translated into English twice. One writer faces potential death, the other immortality.
Stephen Boxer and Oliver Ford Davies star in the production while RSC chief associate, Gregory Doran, directs it.
