Rhianna sets record with 5th UK chart hit in as many years
Date Posted: 10/01/11
Rihanna has become the first female solo artist in UK chart history to have five number one singles in as many consecutive years.
The Barbadian-born star gained the recognition after What's My Name? rose from number two to the top spot over the weekend.
She follows in the footsteps of Elvis Presley, who topped the charts in every year from 1957 to 1963.
Rihanna's album Loud is also still at number one in the UK, which means that she has now achieved the second chart double of her career.
The 22-year-old singer is sure to perform all of her number ones, including Run This Town and Umbrella, when she plays in front of those on city breaks at Birmingham's LG Arena on Saturday October 15th.
Furthermore, Rihanna's chart domination is also being highlighted by the fact that she appears on two other songs in the top ten, with Only Girl (In the World) and Who's That Chick at nine and ten respectively.
