Olympic Stadium to host music festivals

Those who missed the chance to catch the action at the Olympic Stadium during last summer's Games may get another chance to experience the new venue if they visit London this year.
Concert and festival producer Live Nation has announced it has acquired the rights to use the Olympic Park and Stadium to stage events in 2013.
It already plans to host two of its flagship festivals - Wireless and Hard Rock Calling - at the venue, moving them from their former home at Hyde Park.
"We are delighted to be staging music concerts at the London Olympics venue, which last year became a globally recognised site for outstanding performances - both in sport and music," said John Reid, president of concerts at Live Nation Europe.
"Over the coming weeks, we intend to announce some major concerts with world-renowned artists, to firmly establish the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as the centrepiece for great live music in Europe."
The line-ups for the Wireless Festival and Hard Rock Calling, as well as details of other concerts to be staged at the venue in 2013, are to be announced by the end of this quarter, said Live Nation.
