Olivier Award-winning Kathryn Hunter to perform in Mare Rider
Date Posted: 11/01/13
An Olivier Award-winning actress has been added to the forthcoming production of Mare Rider at the Arcola theatre in the form of Kathryn Hunter.
She will feature in the play alongside the likes of Matthew Flynn, Anna Francolini and Hara Yanas in the production, which gets underway on Tuesday, January 22nd.
The dark production, which will be popular with many on theatre breaks in London, tells the story of mythical creature Elka, an aggressive and vengeful baby-stealer, with the drama combining the supernatural with the everyday issues of identity and emotion.
Hunter has played at the theatre before in productions such as Tell Them I Am Young and Beautiful, as well as Yerma, and she has also wowed audiences with roles in Kafka’s Monkey and Peter Brook’s Fragments.
Interestingly, Mare Rider has been put on as part of Europe Now, a theatrical partnership between five different theatres across the continent.
