Olivier Award Winner Roger Allam Returns to Shakespeare's Globe
Date Posted: 08/02/13
Roger Allam, who won an Olivier Award for his performance as Falstaff in Henry IV, Part 1 and Henry IV, Part 2 in 2010, is to return to Shakespeare's Globe in London to play Prospero in a new production of The Tempest this year.
The announcement forms part of the Globe's unveiling of its programme for the 2013 season, which could prove tempting for anyone on London theatre breaks this year.
Also on this year's roster is A Midsummer Night's Dream, starring another Olivier Award winner in Michelle Terry as Titania, and a production of Macbeth, directed by Eve Best and starring Joseph Millson in the title role.
Meanwhile, a host of theatre companies from abroad will also be coming to the Globe for a limited number of performances as part of wider international tours.
These will include a production of Venus & Adonis from South Africa, As You Like It from Georgia, The Tempest from India and a Belarusian King Lear.
