New Order and Johnny Marr to Play Jodrell Bank Gig
Date Posted: 08/03/13
New Order and Johnny Marr have been lined up to play a massive gig at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire this summer.
The two acts will be among those performing at this year's Live From Jodrell Bank concert on July 7th, playing under the shadow of the facility's famous Lovell Telescope.
New Order's Stephen Morris commented: "Playing at Jodrell Bank is going to be really exciting. I grew up not far from there, and I remember riding my bike over to it all the time when I was a little lad.
"I saw Flaming Lips play there and they was brilliant. Really special. We're going to try to do something special too, but we're not telling you what."
Other acts set to play at Jodrell Bank this year include Salford-based electro-indie trio The Whip and Hot Vestry, an experimental indie rock band from Macclesfield.
Hotels in Manchester could be the perfect accommodation for those coming from afar to attend the concert, with the city just 45 minutes away by car.
