New groups to follow in The Arctic Monkeys' NME Awards Tour footsteps
Date Posted: 09/11/10
Next year's NME Awards Tour will feature upcoming indie rock bands such as Ethan Kath and Alice Glass.
The groups were announced earlier today, along with details of the tour, which will kick-off on Thursday February 3rd at Glasgow's O2 Academy.
Music-lovers booking Manchester hotels will be able to see the bands in action on Friday February 4th, with ten other dates around the UK also planned.
Joining the two headline acts, AKA Crystal, Magnetic Man, Everything Everything and The Vaccines will all be hoping that they can follow in the footsteps of former tour performers Franz Ferdinand and The Arctic Monkeys.
"This is the most diverse and exciting NME Awards Tour line-up yet and really reflects the range of music that NME champions every week. From the UK's best new guitar band to dubstep's first super group, it represents the most cutting edge sounds of 2010 and beyond," said NME editor Krissi Murison.
Recently, Everything Everything were named in XFM's Winter Wonderland show, which takes place at the Manchester Academy next month.
